St Lukes Parish Church Hodnet This Grade 1 listed Norman Church is mentioned in the Domesday book. It boasts the only octagonal shaped tower in the county, and is thought to be constructed by the same stonemasons who built Caernarvon Castle.

In more recent times the church has become famous for one of its large stained glass windows. Situated behind the organ, it was constructed to depict the evangelists and is the work of the well known Shropshire artist David Evans. This window has however become famous with the story of the Holy Grail of King Arthur legends and brought to current public interest through the book and film “The Da Vinci Code”.
