Local Charities

There are three grant making charities in and around Hodnet that operate for the benefit of local residents, namely Hodnet 2000, the Hodnet Charities and the Weston and Wixhill Educational Trust.


Hodnet 2000     

We are a charity which helps with the education or development of local young people.

We can help with:-

  • Books
  • Fees
  • Equipment for apprenticeships
  • Music equipment
  • Extra curricular needs

If you are under the age of 25 years, and you or your parents live within the parish of Hodnet, Weston-under-Redcastle and Peplow your applications will be considered.

Hodnet Charities

Originally formed by deed on 26th May 1916. Hodnet Charities serves the civil parish of Hodnet. Its board of trustees represent various areas of the parish.

Anyone living within the parish boundary can apply for funding. Grants are made to a wide variety of causes.

Weston and Wixhill Educational Trust

An educational trust set up from the sale of the former Weston-under-Redcastle school. Interest from the investment is used to provide financial assistance to local young people, resident in the church parish of Hodnet, to further their education.

Grants are determined four times per year.
