Quiz and Presentation Evening

Winning team will be awarded half the total entry fees as their prize.

Digger Blaze in Kenstone

Yesterday, 5 November, 2018 Shropshire fireShropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Rescue Service received at call at 2:45pm to what was initially described as a LGV fire. According to the incident report on their website, the fire was found to be in the engine compartment of a digger. The crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle it.
Crews from Hodnet and Market Drayton attended the blaze, with the stop message being issued at 3:00pm.
Later, Market Drayton Fire Station, posted more details of the fire on its Facebook page. This included that there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and that the cause of the fire was accidental. The Drayton crew were able to leave whilst the one from Hodnet carried out the task of damping down.

Theft and Attempted Theft in Peplow

West Mercia Police LogoWest Mercia Police have published a report on their website of two recent incidents in Peplow.
The first occurred on Wednesday, 24 October, when a farm outbuilding in Peplow, was broken into. Three tractor batteries were taken, staddle stones were also stolen from the garden and lead was removed from an old porch. There were also reports of a cream van haing been seen in the area during the day. The Incident No. for this report is 0130s 251018.
The second incident took place some time between Tuesday 23 and Friday 26 October. During this period an attempt to remove lead from a roof was made at a property on The Avenue, in Peplow. Incident No. 0161s 261018.

Hodnet Medical Centre – Half Day Closure, 22 Nov 18

Hodnet Medical Centre will be closed for the afternoon on Thursday 22 November 2018. The announcement in the Practice News section of the Centre’s website reads:

The surgery will be closed for half a day on Thursday 22nd November 2018 from 12.30pm to allow all Practice staff to take part in a protected learning time training session. All surgeries within the North Shropshire area will be closed this afternoon for training purposes. This is in line with the Government’s directive to improve training and education within the NHS, and to give all practice staff the opportunity to participate. If you require medical treatment while the surgery is closed on the above afternoon – please call 111 Thank you for your support,
