The webteam have been informed by Severn Trent’s contractor Amey, that good progress has been made on Phase Two and there is a real possibility that Drayton Road will be reopened sometime next week. If it is the work will be completed a week ahead of schedule.
The traffic lights at the junction with Mill Road and Wood Lane, which had been reinstated a while ago, have now been removed. This will enable the 64 bus to once again use Mill Road as part of its diversion route.
The site agent has requested the company responsible for replacing the tarmac surface to do so next week. If they do, the site will be completely cleared and the road opened by the end of the week. If for some reason the sub-contractors are unable to complete the resurfacing as planned, reopening the road will be delayed until the following week.
