Marchamley Water Mains – Update 4 October

Marchamley Water Mains Map 2019

Marchamley residents should by now have received a copy of the following letter from Severn Trent Water, in connection with the on going work in the area:

Dear Customer

We’re improving your supply of wonderful water…

You’ll be aware that we have been recently working in the Marchamley area replacing the   old water pipes. We are pleased to inform you, that the work is coming to an end, but we still need to make our final connections to several of the properties in the area.

Where the work will take place

The work will start on the middle greened area, in the village and we will work towards Long Lane.  To keep you and our workforce safe we’ll need to use traffic lights around our working areas.  This work will start on the 7 October 2019 and will be completed by the

18 October 2019. You may see our team on site a few days earlier if they’re setting up equipment, and our reinstatement team will be along once the work is finished to tidy up the roads and footpaths.

The final stage of our works will start at the middle greened area in the village and we will work towards the junction of Wood Lane.  This work will start on the 14 October 2019 and will be completed by 25 October 2019. On this stretch of road we will be using traffic lights at different stages along the road.

Please be aware that although we try to stick to these dates they may change due to circumstances beyond our control.

Thanks for bearing with us

During the work there may be times when access to your driveway may be temporarily hindered. We fully appreciate that it has been a bit of a pain to have this work happening near you – but please be assured that we have and will continue to (along with our contract partner Heartlands) do everything we can to minimise any disruption and get your brand new water pipes as quickly as possible.

Will my water supply be affected?

If we plan to interrupt your water supply we’ll notify you in advance with a card stating the date and the earliest start and latest end time of the interruption. It’s advisable to avoid using any appliances connected to the water supply during this period.

During or after the work, there’s a small chance your water may appear discoloured. This is nothing to worry about, and will quickly go back to normal. We’ll be doing our best to make sure your water supply is unaffected for the duration of our work.  To find out more about clearing discoloured tap water, please visit our website www.stwater.co.uk/discolouration.
