HFG July Walk: Peplow

  • Our next “First Tuesday” walk will take place on Tuesday 7 July when we will walk the recently opened bridleway from Peplow to Ollerton Lodge. We will also include a section of bridleway known as Shukers Lane towards the A442.
  • This walk will start at 10.00 a.m. prompt from our meeting point at the Chapel of the Epiphany, Peplow. This is a ‘there- and -back” route of approximately 3 miles, so it is shorter than our normal walks and should take around 1 hour 30 minutes to complete at a leisurely pace. Parking at the Chapel is limited, so you may wish to consider car sharing.
  • The route includes a lovely tree -lined section of the newly opened bridleway through Peplow Hall Estate, as well as two bridges crossing the River Tern. You will also enjoy a beautiful view of the lake and the many local birds it attracts.
  • We will then continue towards Ollerton Lodge and then onto Perry’s farm where we take the public footpath across the field known as Ollerton Park to rejoin the bridlepath back through the estate returning to the Chapel of the Epiphany.
  • The route is on flat terrain but we would recommend good footwear.
  • We welcome everyone to enjoy this newly opened Peplow/Ollerton route which is also ‘dog friendly’. Please keep to the way marked path through the hall estate and there are clear signs that adjoining land is private property. Please take any litter home, keep your dogs under close control and clean up after them.
