Happy Tots At Hodnet Church

10am – 11.30am on alternate Fridays in St Luke’s Church, Hodnet
Play, arts, crafts, stories, songs and games for children to enjoy!
Chance for adults to have a chat and a drink whilst your children play.
The first “Happy Tots” session will be on Friday 6th July and will meet throughout the school summer holidays – 6 & 20 July, 3, 17 & 31 August.

Peplow Community Walk – June 2018

 Meet in the Stanton Arms car park at 1:45 for 2:00pm
A circular walk around the Stanton area. The route is that of Walk 2 from the “Stanton Walking Guide” available on this page, though we will walking in the opposite direction (i.e. anticlockwise) to that shown. The walk is just over four miles long and is expected to take around two hours.
Children welcome, as also are dogs on leads.
Afterwards in the Stanton Arms

St Luke's Flower Festival – 2018

Bank Holiday weekend of 26th, 27th and 28th May 2018.

A Year in the Life of St Luke’s.

The nine main flower displays will be based on Lent, Easter, Harvest, Advent and Christmas, baptisms, weddings, Remembrance Sunday, Mothering Sunday.
In addition to the flower displays, there will be delicious home-made refreshments, a children’s treasure hunt, a local history table, organ playing and bell ringing.
There will also be a special Songs of Praise at 6.00pm on the Sunday evening.

Shropshire Quiz Night

Wollerton Bowls and Social Club
Half the questions will test your knowledge of the county in which we live.
Wednesday 6th December, 7:30pm
At our clubhouse on Mill Road, Wollerton.
Maximum number in teams – 4.
Come as a team or join in with others when you arrive.
Entry fee – £1 per team member.
Winning team will be awarded half the total entry fees as their prize.
Trophies from our in-house competitions will be presented during the interval between rounds.

St Luke's film night, Nov 2017

St. Luke’s, Hodnet have recently started holding film nights on the first Wednesday of the month. At 7pm on Weds 1st Nov there will be a free showing of “Goodnight, Mr Tom” in the church, and everyone is welcome to attend.
The film is based on a children’s novel of 1981 by English author Michelle Magorian. Set during World War II, it features a boy abused at home in London who is evacuated to the country at the outbreak of the war. In the care of Mister Tom, an elderly recluse, he experiences a new life of loving and care.

On Sunday 10th September we are holding a big BBQ at Marchamley Club. There will be a marquee in the adjoining field with lots of children’s games and sports activities. We are providing the tables chairs and organising music till 930pm. From 2pm onwards there will be tea, coffee and cakes, followed by the BBQ and buffet later in the afternoon. £2 will be charged for small and £3 for large plates. We are organising barrels of ale, tanners wines and a fun photo booth. We will be putting up the bunting and preparing for a great party.
Everyone is invited and requested to bring a cake or something for the buffet. A meeting to plan the event is scheduled for 730pm on Tuesday August 22nd at Marchamley Club.
