Automated External Defibrillator

Some of you will have noticed the bright coloured box installed in the village adjacent to the bus shelter a few weeks ago. This is now a fully functioning, registered defibrillator unit which has been financed using funds raised from community events and installed by volunteers.

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a device that gives the heart an electric shock when someone’s heart is irregular or has stopped (cardiac arrest). Ambulances have them on board, but using an AED in the minutes before an ambulance arrives can double someone’s chances of survival. So it is up to bystanders to quickly find and use the nearest defibrillator.

A training session has been organised for all those interested, at Marchamley Club on Wednesday 15th January 2020 at 7:00pm.

Everyone is welcome including people from outside of the village. Any enquiries, please contact Maureen on 01630 685305 .
