Hodnet and District Garden Club – Sept. 2013

We meet regularly on the third Tuesday of each month, at the Lyon Hall at 7.30pm.Visitors are most welcome to come along to our talks and partake in a cup of tea and biscuit. Entry fee for guests is £2.00 per person, or why not join our club; it’s only £12 for a whole year.
This month’s meeting will be on Tuesday 17th September, when we welcome Jon and Cheryl Kean who will speak on the subject of Permaculture.
Permaculture principles provide a set of universally applicable guidelines that can be used when designing sustainable systems for the land and community as a whole.
Jon and Cheryl have applied the design principles of permaculture over the past 14 years to their holding in Pennerley, which is a recognised Learning and Demonstration (LAND) site by the Permaculture Assoc. They will show slides of their holding including a forest garden, allotment garden, back yard garden and biodynamic garden to demonstrate how they have applied the 12 design principles.
