Some of this year’s attractions: Flower and Vegetable Show Tent, Companion Dog Show, Vintage tractors, classic cars, carriage driving, pony club games, Shire horse parade, North Shropshire horses and hounds, Agri games, plant and cake stalls, and many side shows and exhibitions.

Especially for the children: Pinxton puppets, bale assault course, face painting, children’s races, children’s tug of war, animal corner, fire engine, archery, games of skill, tractor trailer rides, sit in the 2 seater cockpit of a Buccaneer Bomber used in the Falkland Island War
A grand parade!
BBQ, Refreshment Tent, Pimms, Local Beer, Wine, Farm House Ice Cream
Proceeds to St Luke’s Church, The Village Hall, Help for Heroes and Multiple Sclerosis

Hodnet Fun Day

Save Our Scouts.

An afternoon of fun activities to promote the Hodnet 2nd Scout Group.
To be held on Saturday 21st May on Hodnet Recreation Ground from 2 – 4 pm.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
The various organised activities include:
a climbing wall and caving.
Refreshments will be available.
The fun continues at 6 pm with a Ceilidh held at the Lyon Hall.
Bar and Jacket Potatoes.
Please come along give it a go, have some fun and show support for your local Scout Group.
 

Hodnet Footpath Group

The next meeting of the footpath group is taking place in the Jasper room of the Bear Hotel, Hodnet.
We will be discussing our next group walk, general group activities and projects before taking a brief walk along the old Railway Line – weather permitting, to hopefully to see some of the fauna for which it is best known, the elusive Glow Worms.
We are a friendly informal group, new participants welcome – just turn up on the night or call Angus Taylerson (01630 685860) or Mary Hardy (01952 540970) for further information.

Footpath Group Walk

Have you ever wanted to explore some of the beautiful countryside that surrounds where we live, but never got around to it? Well the next Hodnet Footpath Group’s ‘group walk’ provides such an opportunity!
Non-members are invited to join our friendly group for a walk in the area to the North of Wollerton to Marchamley; returning via Hodnet and the old railway line. We will be leaving from Wollerton Social Club (Mill Road) at 10.30 AM, with an expected duration of around 2  1/2 hours – bring a snack/lunch, to suit.

The Citadel Open Garden and Coffee Morning

The Citadel near Weston under Redcastle is opening its 3 acres of gardens on Saturday 14th May between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. Take a relaxing wander through the extensive mature gardens, marvel at the incredibly pristinely maintained vegetable garden, enjoy the breath taking views across the rolling fields of the Hawkestone countryside. Then take a break, sit back and have a coffee and a cake. 
Every one is welcome,  £3.00 Entrance fee, payable on arrival. All profits in aid of Hodnet 2000 charitable trust.

Songs Of Praise at St. Lukes Church

Radio Shropshire are to record an Easter Service at St Luke’s Church (Church Street, Hodnet) on Tuesday 19th April at 6.30pm. Please arrive for 6.00pm.
The broadcast will be on Easter Sunday.
We invite members of all churches within the Deanery to join us on that occasion. It is planned to have a rehearsal on Tuesday 5th April at 6.30pm.

Plant Hunters Fair at Hodnet Hall

Plant hunters fair at Hodnet Hall Gardens, Sunday 5th June.
Gate opens 10 a.m. last entrance 5 p.m.
Entrance at the special event rate of £2.50 for adults , children free.
Tea rooms open.
Full access to the renowned landscape gardens.
Childrens adventure trail competition.
Free guided tours.
